Need help with bying a GFX card...

Ok, sp o my birthday is this 16th, and ofcourse I want some presents, right? I have ordered myself a new mobo and a CPU (Yes, I have sent in the broken one, and bought a new). All I need now is a GFX card to make my computer kick ass ;) . I cannot afford GFX cards more expencive than 2200 kr. That would be around 345 USD. My friend Woohz has a XFX Radeon HD 5770 I think. This card isn't that bad for its price, cos it runs BBC2 on max - zero lag. If any one of you know a card that is a little better, or the same power with less cost, I would be grateful for any help :) . Or if you mean that its a good card, I could ofcourse buy that one too.
The XFX Radeon HD 5770 costs about 205 USD in Norway. Also.. I dont know if I would need a new PSU for this to work smoothly. I have a Corsair 450 W.

Your regards - Foffkillz :icon_mrgreen:

I'd say a Radeon 6850...
or if you prefer Nvidia, a GTX 560 Ti or GTX 460..
If all you do is play games, go ahead and buy a Radeon, but if you do any graphics editing, take a look at this:

and video editing:

as you can see, Nvidia Cuda accelerates the performance of Photo/Video editing.
All GeForce cards you buy nowadays should support Cuda. :icon_mrgreen:

The GTX 460 SE I just got is great and it didn't cost much. In fact you might even be able to get TWO and SLI them up. I play BC2 on HIGH settings at 1680x1024 and it runs awesome.

It's powerful but the problem is "the money". :)

That is almost always the problem, isnt it? Yeah, I dont do any video/photo rendering, so Its for the gaming. Ill take a look on those mentioned :)
EDIT: That Radeon HD 6850 has the same clock speed as my current card, but I guess that isnt everything, is it..? My 9600GT has a 700 MHz (OC 775) shader clock 1750 MHz shader clock and the memory is clocked @ 1000 MHz.

yeah it may have the same clocks but it's built on a newer, more efficient architecture and therefore is more powerful.

True. AMD beats NVIVIA in some ways, and in others it's vice versa. It's whatever your preference is.
