Anyone have this one?
EVGA GeForce GTX 460 SE (Fermi) ->
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814130591This comment is eye catching because I too would be upgrading from a 8800GT and need it to run cool.
Pros: Runs any game I throw at it on max settings, runs cool and quite. Not a very big card. Upgraded from a 8800 GT. HUGE performance boost.

I don't have it, but I looked it up..and it's a really good card. runs on the same architecture as the GTX 470 and 480, but has the evga cooler which runs better than most of the other ones. here's another plus for you T, they're specific on the games:
Pros: So what if this card has less cuda cores, it runs every game I play at 1080p with aa/af, including BFBC2 and Black Ops. Solid card and runs way cooler than my HD 4850. Idles around 22C and Load around 45C.
Oh and that new patch for Black Ops that just came out fixes the performance issues for dual-cores. You should be good to go if you get this

the 6000 series are probably out of his budget..I'm thinking he's looking for a good but cheaper card. Am I right?

The 5000 series is his best choice

Don't want ATI. Only ATI card I ever bought burned up. They had their chance and blew it. Also, I need a card that is solid and not as very expensive. I'm not spending more than the one I posted. I just wanted to hear if anyone had used it before.

I think I got the same GPU, but not the 1 GB version. I got the one with a little less (7... I can't remember the #'s) memory.
It runs great. I got mine for an astoundingly great price of like.. idk, something cheaper than that. (...~$80? It was on sale)
EVGA precision is pretty neat. Easy to change some simple features without any special knowledge (e,g fanspeed, memory speed, etc..) It's about the same size as an 8800GT.
I'd say it'd be worth your money to get one. It runs great. Also, Probably near the top of the list for Best bang for buck (If I can remember.)

Little late on this but.....turns out I'm in the EVGA league.
VIDEO: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470 1.25GB 16X PCIe Video Card [DirectX 11 Support] [+200] (EVGA Powered by NVIDIA [+5])
* VIDEO2: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470 1.25GB 16X PCIe Video Card [DirectX 11 Support] [+385] (EVGA Powered by NVIDIA [+5])
These work with no apparent problems....everything maxed in setrtings...there said to get hot but no evidence.

The prices included are a year old, also I think the 460 is practically the same thing. I can't see they made that many changes could they?
