    NVIDIA launches GTX 580

yeah...they did it. It's supposed to be in preparation for AMD's 6900 card coming out later this month or early next month. It's slightly faster than the 480, and it runs cooler with lower power usage. It's what the 480 was supposed to be but never was.

and on a sidenote, if you look at this benchmark for Metro 2033, TechGage uses the Radeon 5970 for it too. But the neat thing is, if you look, the top tester was the 6870 in crossfire. They outperform a single 5970, which the cost of it ranges from $500 - $700. You can get two 6870's for ~$480, and outperform a 5970. Yeah..I'm glad I got this card :icon_mrgreen:

So ATI/AMD wins again. The price for the 580 will be roughly the same as the single core 6900 series and ~100-200 cheaper than the dual core.

Nvidia is too explensive, but their single cores are faster.

Sometimes measuring the bottleneck can be interpreted in so many ways. The only Thing ATI can render better then Nvidia is BSoD.

That's true. The price keeps me away from them.
