Need Video Playback Help

Ok so I got the movie Equilibrium (GREAT movie!!!) in .m2ts format, blu-ray quality. When I try to play it with VLC media player, the image is multicolored and skippy. I've tried several different things and nothing is working. Help anyone?

i use powerdvd for blu ray playback never had any problems

Maby u should be looking for some better decoders. I had a bad .AVI decoder once, and it resulted in the whole picture was in blue colour. Think u should check it out
. Or maby the video is corrupted?

already tried that. PowerDVD 8 came on my laptop; I get sound but no video.

I can't remember how I ran across it, but I found it like 3 years ago and have used it ever since. I've never ran across a media file since that I haven't been able to play using regular old Windows Media player.
