Computer upgrade.

So now I have decided to upgrade my computer (since mobo crashed completely). I am planning on using about 3000-3501kr. (472-551 USD) I need a mobo, CPU and RAM.

I have set something up myself, and that is:

MOBO:
Gigabyte GA-MA78LMT-US2H, Socket-AM3

CPU:
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition ( Quad Core @ 3.4GHz )

RAM:
Corsair Value S. DDR3 1333MHz 4GB CL9

This will be costing 2900KR (456 USD) at http://www.komplett.no

This is to work with my old Gainward GeForce 9600GT graphics card, and a 450W Corsair PSU..

So what do you think about it?

I love Intel. I have a i5-750, and its crazy fast. Its a Quad Core at 2.66GHz and turbos to 3.2GHz. All other i5s are dual cores. So if you want a quad core Intel, it will have to be a i5-750 or i7-xxx

I think the i7 920 or 930 beats the Phenom II X-6 in most benchmarks...
A quad core intel is still better than AMD's 6-core. (There about the same price). Plus since no games are yet optimized for hexa-core you wont see much improvement from even a lower range i7 800 series

Yeah, i saw on some tests, but I really cant afford an i7... I can afford the i5 quad core, but nothing more... What do u think of the i5 quad core with Corsair Value S. DDR3 1333MHz 4GB CL9 RAM?

You should really be looking for deals, 1495kr is about 203 us dollars.

Microcenter has it for 166 us dollars

newegg bundle is 210 with a mobo http://www3.slickdeals.net/forums/showt ... &t=2155062

Just go onto slickdeals.net and search for amd 965, you'll find plenty of deals

Never pay retail price, unless that site's the only one who's gonna ship to you

Yes many people buy from there, but make sure that with the rebates you follow all instructions. you'll get the check in like 1 to 2 months :(
