USA Soccer looking not so hot

They look winded to me. not much running or chasing. leaving wide open areas not closing out. Altidore looks like he wants to go home. Hes not even trying being lazy with that one offsides. Theyre not connecting no chemistry. Ghana is running all over them and theyre lucky theyre not down by more. Hopefully they come out of half realizing that they are once again losing and this time waiting for the 90th minute isnt gonna work.

well once again the defense let us down. if our defense were a little better wed be moving on. well we got 4 years to fix it at least.

Defense was the problem.. not being ready to play at the whistle is not good and reflects on the coach I'm afraid.

i dont buy into that. the coach isnt the one on the field. they were saying that during the match. if ur a world class soccer player id expect u to realize that the game is 90 minutes long and a goal scored at the beginning counts the same as one at the end. Everyone seems to want to blame the coach for everythign. and i agree he shouldnt have started ricardo clark. So while i do blame some on the coach i think the players are just as much at fault if not more theyre the ones out their playing. I really dont believe that in a game like soccer the coach really does much besides decide who starts. He cant tell them which way to break when they have a run at goal there are no timeouts and he cant draw up a play. It just comes down to world class athletes playing the game.

And when it's obvious that the team is unprepared to start the game over and over and over, you don't think it's the coaches responsibility to sort that out? Listen it happens once, fine, I'll even give you twice, but when it happens every single time in the biggest tournament in the world, both qualifiers and the finals, the coach has to take some responsibility. That is his job after all, to prepare the players, and they aren't prepared.

i said that i do blame the coach some but he cant make the players take responsibility. he can tell them what needs to happen, show them how to do it, but when its game time its all up to them. I dont personally think they werent prepared they just seemed cocky almost like it wasnt gonna happen again and even if it did theyd be able to come back. and u can only live on the edge for so long before u fall off. plus the back line seemed to lack cohesiveness like they didnt trust each other. and if that was the case theres nothing anyone coulda done about it. theres no way u can make someone trust someone else and they seemed to be wanting to play for themselves and less as a team. Also was there something wrong with Onyewu? He only played that one game. i know he was coming off an inury but he was regarded as one of our best defenders. and if he was hurt that bad maybe they shoulda dropped him and picked up someone else. Im just hoping that another let down doesnt crush soccer. We already have too many players choosing football, basketball and baseball becuase they can make more money. Too bad soccer wasnt as big here as it is in Europe then the players would get paid more and a few more might be interested in soccer over one of the other big Sports.

He played in the first 2 games.

Obviously the players need to execute on the pitch, but something isn't right when you give up early goals time and time again. Bradley is fine, but I'd like to get Klinsman in as our coach. Wanted him before, want him now. Only reason he wasn't our coach is because MLS wouldn't play ball as far as promising players would be made available. Anyway, he's my pick to be coach now.
