cant connect to steam??

well today I said to myself that ill go to play some HL2DM. But when I started STEAM, "Steam is having trouble connecting to the Steam servers". theres a troubleshooting link, but since the last time i opened steam, i didnt change any config on my PC. But what is strange, is that when i opened steam today, it updated (Steam is updating) then I couldnt login.
What is going on!?

Just restart. Ive had this happen before. Restart your computer and it should be all good.
