TKC Computer Case

Ok so i have started to get into case modding a little. (meaning im not a professional). So i want to do something to help the clan and this is what i came up with. I would like to take an old computer case and go ahead and repaint and mod it a little. Probably like adding a side window and more fans if there arent alot. adding a cool paint scheme. (my case that im working on now is black with blue annodized drive bays, ill post pics/vids later when its finished). i was thinking we could even vote on some of the options availabe like the paint scheme, window configuration and stuff like that.

The kicker would be that this case would go to the winner of a drawing. To get ur name in that drawing u would have to donate to the clan. Currently we were thinking that for every $5 u donate ur anem would get put in a "hat" once. So if u donated $20 then u would get ur name put in 4 times. The winner will be chosen by a random generator program. But b4 i start going all out on a case here we need to make sure we even have enough people interested in this to make it feasable/profitable. All this stuff costs money and hopefully i could get it done cheap enough to bring money into the clan. But this post is to gauge the interest level of such an indeavor. So if u would be willing to do this or if u think its a bad idea why dont u reply and tell us what u think.

I think it's cool and if you don't get enough interest then what can you say about that, except, we have the wrong members...

Hey, it sounds like a good idea to me. I just don't have a way to donate,
and question how much does it cost to keep a server up?

Depends on the game, how many slots you get, and how often you pay.

For example: We have a 32-slot public Bad Company 2 server that we paid for 3 months usage. It's $39.95 a month at a 5% discount for paying for 3 months in advance. Total=$113.86 for 3 months.

Take that and add an additional $200.49 for the 3 Half-Life 2 servers, plus our TeamSpeak 3 server and the website, and it all adds up. This is all paid for out of donations and out of pocket by some of the leadership. Hence why so much importance is pushed on donating.

With all that said, I'd be game. I could really use a new case, especially if you got a hold on a full tower.

Very interesting idea!! But a question, is it just the case or is it a full computer (except the screen :icon_crazy: )?
It would be interesting to know.

It is *just* the case that is going to be modified by kingloser. I base that assumption upon the fact that we would actually lose money as a clan if he was to give away a whole computer and ask for only $5 in return as a raffle ticket, from what may or may not be a low number of interest from our clan.

To give away a whole computer ready to run, would cost allot of money if it was to be anything decent :P

Hope this answers your question, m8.

Thanks for the quick reply! But the only problem is that im not making a computer right now (or for the next few years). So i wont be needing a case. But ill try to donate as soon as i can (when my parents accept (im paying, but they have the credit card) :icon_sad: ).

yes it is just the case. and im hoping to get a full tower Don. Also like i said in the other posts is there not a way for u to get a prepaid visa/debit card kinda thing? they have them at the malls and maybe even banks not sure. otherwise we would gladly accept money thru the mail. were just trying to keep the clan going and i was hoping that this might pique some peoples interest. Also depending on the donations it would probably also include some fans as well since i wouldnt want to short neone there. Also u could just move ur stuff from one case to another, u dont need to be building a new comp.

Yeah, don't think we can be giving away a computer on the donations we're getting now. :P

You can actually purchase those cards from Wal-Mart, most grocery stores, and I'm seeing them more and more in gas stations.
