whats "progressive metal genre"?

I'm not 100% sure what it actually is, but that's what this cd (Black Clouds and Silver Linings) is under. Dream Theater has actually hit 5 different genres, Rock, Progressive Rock, Metal, Progressive Metal, and Experimental Metal.

I have no labels... rock and roll, or not. no trouble for me to explain rock music
