    New TV

Just got my new TV hooked up. Got a 42" Vizio, model number sv421xvt for those geeks that want to look into it. The thing is great compared to the 36" CRT I upgraded from, but I haven't got to see anything in HD yet. Every Wal-mart within 20 miles is sold out of PS3's so I'm hoping to pick one up from Gamestop/EB Games tomorrow.

NICE. My friend's older brother has a 42-inch Vizio too, and it beats any other LCD TV by far. Vizio is the best :)

Sweet bro! Nothing like HD. If you want a site for cheap HD cables for your ps3 check out monoprice.com

You can also get a wall mount for your tv much cheaper from there if your interested in that.

I actually just sucked it up and got the HDMI cable from BestBuy, which basically cost me an arm and a leg. I do still have to get another HDMI cable and DVI-to-HDMI converter so I can get my PC hooked up, but I'll probably get those from NewEgg.

there are dvi to hdmi cables out there. it's cheaper than getting an hdmi cable then a converter. i'm actually looking to do the same until i realized my monitor isn't full hd :p. ill just wait for a new monitor and hopefully it'll have a dvi port. :D

With all your money your getting with that tax return why not buy a video card with an hdmi port (all new hd5000 and gtx300 series have them)
That way you use your tv as a monitor aswell :icon_crazy:

like slevin said...Well..we dont have that brand in Canada but ive heard of it before

ViewSonic is still the best..i still got a 15" LCD monitor from them thats almost 10 years old and it only hs 1 pixe dead, I use it daily
I have a new 19" from them..its litterally crystal clear...

P.S. AWWWW Does this mean you wont be playing hl2dm anymore?..you gunna be stuck on your TV and maybe new PS3?

Sometimes measuring the bottleneck can be interpreted in so many ways. The only Thing ATI can render better then Nvidia is BSoD.

    Re: New TV

Yeah, Vizio is their own brand (see here: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Who_owns_and_manufactures_VIZIO_TV) and they're actually grabbing a lot of ground on the more established name brands (such as Sony and Samsung). Vizio's TV's had a problem with shelf-life when they first started coming on the market (I think the owner's were trying to cut consumer cost by using lesser quality parts) but they've since revamped their engineering and are making some pretty solid TV's. The one I bought I did some pretty extensive research on and couldn't really find any negative comments on it.

Yes my time on HL2DM will be dwindling, but honestly, it already had been ever since L4D2 came out. I'm with T3, King, and them and I'm ready to move on. Most of that will be by going to BC2, but I may be delayed there due to some unforeseen circumstances, but we'll see.
