Big Flems Server is Moving
Posted: Tue Oct 13, 2009 5:51 pmTonight I am suppose to get together with Flem and we are going to purchase a new 16 slot HL2DM server from gameservers.com (which will mean they host all but our TF2 server). After that we will be DUMPING THE HELL OUT OF FPS (the current server host for Flems)! Yes, I don't care for them much. This is made possible because of the help from kingloser, oscar2 and oberherr who helped test the easy kill settings and how we could have settings that would make it as much 1 shot kill as possible and be equal for combine and rebel players. As a result combine players will no longer have any advantage over rebels on Flems. Didn't know about that? Yeah we weren't 100% sure ourselves until this testing. Turns out shots to the stomach and chest consistently used our hitbox modifiers if you were rebel, but only sometimes, or not at all, if you were combine. That isn't cool.
(Following statements are based on a player using the 357)
Long story short, shots to the head will be 1 shot kill regardless of suit, or health. Stomach and chest settings will be normal kill as that is the only way to make it equal for combine AND rebels (we don't know why the hitbox modifiers for those 2 hitboxes don't work anymore but they don't), legs and arms will do 225 points damage so in most cases those will be a 1 shot kill as well unless a player has 100 health and at least 126 suit. This means a player with 100 health and 200 suit who gets shot in the leg gets knocked down to 75 health at which point any 2nd shot from a 357, regardless of location, will kill that player.
That's the best we can do and in all honesty is better than what we have now currently on Flems.
