Pengwin wrote:Y'know guys, Windows isn't better for EVERYTHING... Snow Leopard is far better for people who prefer to make things rather than play the things that were made. It's very powerful, while also being minimalistic, using such little processing power, ram, and disk space. Ram heavy applications such as adobe video editing products, as well as many other applications of he sort will run easily on Macs. Viruses from the internet are so uncommon because to be executed "well," they'd have to be a DMG file, which is very uncommon in the virus market, as EXE files are so much more popular. It's simple to use, and once set up, it is a quick and fantastic system. The only people who absokutely hate the Mac OS are the people who do not own one. [or gamers] Now I am like everyone else, I like to pay less, so I'm the Hackintosh person, but there is no alternative to a macbook. The design in hardware is just as important as the software, so if look and feel is what she wants then get it for her. Cheaping out on a girlfriend is a really fast way to become a single man. Especially if you completely disregarded her expectation / general wish.

Just give me an Asus Laptop, and Ill be happy. IF you know how to use a PC properly, you never get viruses, you mainly only get viruses from unknown sites or untrusted warez. As for Video Editing, my PC can run it better then a Macbook pro, it uses a GT330(32 Cuda Cores) and I have the GT220(48 Cuda Cores). And i'm probably gunna get a GTX 460/560 soon (384 Cuda Cores). But if you ask me, Mac is pretty limited. Most of the people I know use boot camp for windows anyways. Limited Hardware and Software. I cant even plug in my headset into a Mac without getting driver errors. Oh, what about my Games? Cant run those either(except for TF2 and hl2dm). For simple everyday stuff, I use Linux on my netbook, its fast and FREE, and the best part is that it uses LESS resources then windows, and probably less then Mac, by using linux, I almost extend my battery life by 1.2 - 1.5 x more then using windows. When I fully boot up on linux, its using under 200MB ram. Drivers like Linux too, I plugged in my headset, it works, games? BC2 works (not online tho), hl2dm works, MSpaint works, oh yea, I even plugged in my microsoft wireless mouse, it worked too :)

If you compare an asus laptop to a Mac, Asus wins. I actually like the design of an Asus laptop better then a Mac, plus its half the price. I just cant wait for the Asus Slate EP121 to release. I totally wanna get that. Its a tablet thinner then the macbook air, that runs windows 7. You should google it. Its a bit over prices, but its epic.

Sometimes measuring the bottleneck can be interpreted in so many ways. The only Thing ATI can render better then Nvidia is BSoD.

    key word: RECENTLY

overall, they have always had the best boards on the market. Every company releases a model or two that malfunction every now and then, and if you read up on those returns, they were the Sandy Bridge models, which INTEL (not asus) is at fault for the problems resulting in those boards.

Yep, it was a defect in the new sandy bridge chipset, NOT THE MOTHERBOARD. This happened to ALL companies, you CANNOT blame Asus on this, It is Intel at fault. Remember, Asus doesn't manufacture the chipsets, they manufacture the boards.
