Hey crimson, talk to me xfire and ill give you the updated list.
That case sucks for airflow. no fan on the side door near GPU/CPU area.
and also..you forgot one of the most important things in your build. a CPU fan. i doubt you'll be able to run your computer with that :P.
Well, you'll be able to boot up to your bios without a processor.

Sometimes measuring the bottleneck can be interpreted in so many ways. The only Thing ATI can render better then Nvidia is BSoD.

Re: This is the computer I'm saving up for.

IMPORTANT READ THIS BEFORE YOU GET THE RAM!!!:
Your motherboard has 6 DIMM for ram, that means if you want to get the performance of that 1600MHZ RAM means you need to have 3 slots fill (so either 3 x 1GB or 3 x 2GB on DIMM 0)
    For $180 (Canadian) I got 6GB (2x3GB 1600MHZ OCZ RAM)
So for an extra $80 you get max performance out of you RAM and an extra 2GB well worth it if your getting 64bit OS

    Also:
Stock Cooling should be good if you dont plan on Overclocking
I got the Coolmaster 932 HAF (High Air Flow) Tower...it essentially a giant beast that has a side window and the rest of the casing is vented with Three 230mm (~ 6inch Fans) and a few smaller fans.

The GTX470 and 480's are known to getting very hot...i dont know if they overheat at all but you may need additional cooling just to keep those temperatures down.

    GIGABYTE GA-H55M-S2H

New guy here, I just purchased a new comp. from Cyberpower and found it had a better configutor over ibuypower, like being able to fill all fan slots for an extra 19.95. But before I got compulsive about it and just bought everything, what if you were to just buy really good upgradable motherboard like a nice X58 then go ahead and purchase mediocre processor and HD's with the intent on upgrading them in the future when they are dirt cheep, like in a year or two. You could save some money on the SSD and i7.

Of course I didn't follow my own advise and went for the enchilada. What ever you get I'm sure will good enough though.

I saw a $90 EVGA X58 motherboard it was referbished tho, but it supports the Core i7 and is socket 1366

Re: This is the computer I'm saving up for.

Ok let me just make it clear...For one, I hate going to Dell, or Bestbuy, or Futureshop or whatever retail store to purchase a computer. I use to get computers from MDG Canada, but they are a f'in joke and have awful service and prices.
I would never go with Dell ever!!! After seeing my parents get suckered into a wasted $1200 computer!!! Sure 8GB RAM sounds nice, intel i5...the ATI 5450 speaks volume about the type of computer your really getting. Since that card is among the lowest 5000 series, it doesnt require much power, or give you much performance. So from that you can tell that the Power Supply your gonna get will be bear minimum to run the specs of the computer listed and the motherboard will prob only support a single Graphics card, most likely limited to the 8gb ram too.
I possible do more research online with Newegg.com or whatever US stores. Try to make it clear to your parents that if you source the parts from Newegg or somewhere else you will be getting much more, for the same price. And tell them that it won;t be a pile of **** after a year.
