You think the Democrats are immune to giving their buddies preferred treatment? Take a look at Obama and his union buddies, ACORN, etc. And what about the greed for power that every Democrat seems to worship. Do you not see an every growing, meddlesome government? Nationalize the banking industry, auto industry, attempting to nationalize health care, trying to gain control over the internet with the "kill switch" (much like how Ahmadinejad turned off the internet in Iran when he didn't like the news the world was seeing), attempting to tell you what light bulbs you can use, how much you are allowed to run your air conditioner, etc. All at the expense of your liberties, your freedom. There are some extreme radicals in the Obama administration. Van Jones, the guy who thinks your pets should be able to bring lawsuit against it's owner, confessed communist! I mean, there is a trend here and the trend is a move toward socialism and a loss of individual liberties.

We want to be fuel independent, but you aren't allowed to drill. We want you to be safe, but we'll cut back on military spending and bring terrorist to civil courts to be tried right here in the USA. We want to save the Delta Smelt but unfortunately you farmers won't get the water you need to water your crops causing you to go broke and the price of food to rise, but hey, at least these fish won't die. We want to create jobs, so I think we should tax those people and companies that create jobs MORE because they shouldn't have more than us!

I mean come on, this isn't the USSR or communist China. This is the USA. The Democratic party is NOT for the little guy or the middle class, that is a myth. The Democratic party is not the party of the people anymore, if it ever was. It's the party of big government, unproven scientific theory and wealth redistribution.

So rare to find a young conservative. One of these days it won't be cool to be liberal when your young, and then us conservatives will have to deal with a whole herd of uninformed teens speaking on our behalf. Oh yeah. :)

Oh, present company excluded of course. :icon_crazy:

I know this is may be a very tough topic for many Americans and I don't know how many of you don't like the idea of public healthcare. I know there will be some who would say that its socialist. Some of the best healthcare and even educational systems in the world is a hybrid of private/public. France is one of the top countries for healthcare with the highest living expectancy in the world. Countries like Switzerland and i think Australia have free post secondary education for all their citizens.

Do you not see an every growing, meddlesome government? I have my own issues with Obama's administration other than what's been talked about here but I don't care to elaborate as this has been an ageless argument that won't soon go away. I've found it's easier for me to not say I'm liberal or conservative, I just find what I do and don't like about who's currently in office and go from there. My biggest problem with Obama (that has been brought up) is that he's cut the mess out of military budgeting. From a taxpayer point of view, I'm with it, as I've seen first hand how it forces military agencies to re-evaluate what they are doing with their money and to become more efficient spenders. It also forces the military to down size (or trim off the fat as I like to look at it), which is problematic in itself. The military looks at its people and says "Those of you that have just been doing the bare minimum to get by are out" but at the same time I've seen some very deserving people be forced out under the same regime. My biggest problem is that (particular to the field I'm in in the Navy) re-enlistment bonus' have been cut to nothing and I'm probably looking at a slightly less than desirable raise at the beginning of the year (for those that don't know, the military as a whole gets an annual pay raise on January 1, usually around 3% of the base pay). You could write a book about what Obama's administration is doing wrong, but you could also do the same for any other President that has been or will be just about. I'm staying out of this one, except for this little piece here.

My problem isnt the administration, its how society reasons. For example, the stupid speech hes making has caused a big deal about NOTHING. Every parent in my district decided that we couldnt watch it so the Central Office (No clue why I caped that) wont show it. And today they said they will.

But who cares what hes going to say. Its basically going to be "Dont do drugs, set goals, and follow through on them." The $&^&^$ that say that its brainwashing are morons that need to fall down a hole in my opinion. Everyone knows that Obama's not stupid enough to do that. And who cares.

As long as hes not pushing agenda or policy, its fine & freedom of speech. If you dont want to watch it then write a note you your teach. They understand. But our society's so damn sensitive that no, if one person cant watch it then no one can.

Good mercy. Im movin to Britain :icon_shy:

    Blame Woodrow Wilson...

but seriously... when did healthcare become a privilege and not a right (only in America--- which, by the way, is the only Western civilization with private healthcare)... Lets see... american healthcare costs the most and you are right above Slovakia (or something like that), sitting 37th in the world... congrats

but about rights... the only rights americans seemed to care about is their right to bare arms... and they mix the first amendment with the second... The patriot act is a joke... but as long as you are allowed to keep your guns you dont care, oh well. "so we are keeping the guns?? good. go ahead, take the rights."

Government increased 40% with Bush (my hero ;) ). So the democrats are not the party of big government - they all are.

And if you drill, You are NOT energy independent. In fact oil is priced on a world scale and there is no labels on the barrels telling you where it is coming from...

and bush started the bail out... Republican parties slogan: "privatize profit, nationalize debt" < but as soon as you nationalize profit you SCREAM socialist...

    I digress...
