    +1

You can use Wine to emulate steam and games on linux too. BC2 multiplayer doesn't work on that though :(....but other games like hl2dm and TF2 do.
But most of the apps on linux are free and stable. You can also use wine to emulate any other programs from windows such as Paint, or microsoft word.

Sometimes measuring the bottleneck can be interpreted in so many ways. The only Thing ATI can render better then Nvidia is BSoD.

Just watch that website and you'll know when to buy. A lot of apple fans update it with info and watch when Apple is going to update. Oh and she may not plan on using the laptop hard but I'd seriously look at the extended "Apple Care" plan instead of just 1 year; my macbook pro I got in '08 has needed a few repairs and all of them were free since I have the 3 year plan (all happened in year 2). My repairs have totaled probably $700 or more, to apple but I didn't pay a dime.

Oh, and my repair total would be really high because the model I got had a bad connection between the video card and motherboard which they recalled quietly... most apple's don't need to be repaired.

    Re: MACBOOK Pro 13"

Y'know guys, Windows isn't better for EVERYTHING... Snow Leopard is far better for people who prefer to make things rather than play the things that were made. It's very powerful, while also being minimalistic, using such little processing power, ram, and disk space. Ram heavy applications such as adobe video editing products, as well as many other applications of he sort will run easily on Macs. Viruses from the internet are so uncommon because to be executed "well," they'd have to be a DMG file, which is very uncommon in the virus market, as EXE files are so much more popular. It's simple to use, and once set up, it is a quick and fantastic system. The only people who absokutely hate the Mac OS are the people who do not own one. [or gamers] Now I am like everyone else, I like to pay less, so I'm the Hackintosh person, but there is no alternative to a macbook. The design in hardware is just as important as the software, so if look and feel is what she wants then get it for her. Cheaping out on a girlfriend is a really fast way to become a single man. Especially if you completely disregarded her expectation / general wish.

It'll also help you become a lot richer than you currently are.
