Do you have an extra PSU you could try? Or could you throw your new PSU in an old build that you know works to test it? If you look at the second page, his problem was because of a bad PSU.

I know the build he describes is a much older build but the issues sound very similar. Maybe your friend that loaned you the ram would have a PSU you could try if you don't have an extra with enough power for your build?

Yes. I think he has a 550 Watt, and I have 450 Watt. I dont think that there is anything wrong with the PSU, because I just put my old parts together, and it runs smoothly. Maybe it is because the new CPU takes more power from it for it to handle?

    Re: Motherboard problem... Again.. -.-

First off, we havent met yet. It's great to meet you.

In a situation like this you need to isolate what is failing with as few variables as possible. Clear off a table and place your mobo on the box it came it. If you dont have a wrist strap to stay grounded make sure to discharge static electricity as often as humanly possible to avoid frying the components. Take the power supply, cpu, memory, and video card and install everything where it should go. Hook your monitor up as well. Turn the system on and see if it boots. If it doesnt, the culprit is most likely your motherboard or graphics card. If it does boot, then install everything in the case and make sure to use the brass/copper standoffs when attaching the motherboard to the case.

Once you have done that, power the system up again with the same components you had on the table, So still no hard drive, dvd drive, etc. If it POSTS, then shut it down and add your hard drive and dvd drive and boot it up. If everything is still ok, you can add any other PCI cards you may have and proceed to install the operating system.

The whole point of the method I outlined is to narrow down what is happening. I suggest doing it this way because you either installed the speaker incorrectly or it is not functioning. Additionally, running it with as few components as necessary at first, will help you determine if your components are causing the power supply to fail.

    Hope it helps!

atm, I dont have any memory because my friend took his memory with him when we gave up last night, but Ill tell him to bring it later on. Then Ill try it. :icon_happy:
Currently, I have set my old configuration back together, and it works as it should so I dont think it is the PSU. Personally I'm holding my finger at the fact that the mobo or the CPU was ruined when I got it, but, we'll see ;)
EDIT: I have now tried what you said (Exept I dont have any memory) but there were no different response from the motherboard. I think the main problem is that the OC Dial/button is constantly switched on. It should be off, but there is no way to get it off.. I have just cleared the CMOS jumpers and im taking out the CMOS battery now. If this does not help, then I dont know what to do...

that sounds like the motherboard is shot. You should probably RMA it.

What do you mean by RMA?

RMA means Return Merchandise Authorization. Meaning you send it back to newegg (if you bought it from there) as a defective part and the send you another one. In other words, make good on the warranty.

Will do, but Ill let my dad inspect it and see if he gets it to work. I get home to him in the weekends, so wont be able to test further until then.

Ok. Both me and my father came to the conclusion that either the mainboard or the CPU is defect. We have sent the parts in, and will be getting my money back. I dont dare to take that board again.. Anyone got any ideas for a cheap and good motherboard with easy overclocking? (No buttons on the mainboard, tough. I dont dare to try that again..)

Cheap and good i don't think so, you have to add even $50 more. :)

I agree. I recommend the ASUS Crosshair IV Formula AM3 AMD 890FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard I use it and love it.
Although it is about double the price.

You may want to also give ASUS M4A88T-M/USB3 AM3 AMD 880G HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard a look I haven't used it but it looks promising for the same price as your board.

You may feel like that but once you get it working you will feel godly for quite a while. I just finished my build last week and I still feel awesome.
