HOLY!!!, that's cheap, Slevin, just get 2 465s, and OC them to match the 470, thats what a lot of people are doing and you get nearly the same performance

Sometimes measuring the bottleneck can be interpreted in so many ways. The only Thing ATI can render better then Nvidia is BSoD.

Its not worth it to get two low end 465s to match my 5870.

I'm sticking with my 5870. I've had enough problems dealing with finding a graphics card that works.

That's why I never buy cards when they just come out...lol. I wait 6 months to 1 year, then decide. By then the reviews are in, and they are time tested. I know a guy who has gone through 3 - 5870's, he has bad luck. Also, now that you have given up on your search...just buy this:

The 5870 is the second best card right now. It came out almost a year ago (September).
All of Nvidia's DirectX11 cards are only a few months old.
Nvidia was late to release their 400 series and they are still lower than ATI's top cards.

(TKC) brownman350 wrote:But they are the best. :)

True. BUT I know too many people with problems on them. Even though they are the "best", I dont think all of us have money for their high end cards. Besides, Nvidia came out with Nvidia Surround, its their version of eyefinity. Also, not only do they have Nvidia Surround, but its also 3D capable, imagine 3 screens surrounfing you all in 3D.
    ATI 5970 ($700) = Geforce 285/290 (Nvidia hasn't released it yet.)
    ATI 5870 ($400-$500) = geforce 480 ($500)
    ATI 5850 ($300) = geforce 470 ($325)
    ATI 5830 ($200-250) < geforce 465 ($250)
    ATI 5830 ($200-250)= Geforce 460 ($200)
That's how i look at it. And accually, their pretty much tied, because the 5970 is the equivelent of 2x5870s (underclocked)/ 2x5850s (overclocked), all you need is 2x 480s to match it. Sure, Nvidia is a bit more expensive, but you get more features, such as Physx and Cuda. Now, a lot of people are using Nvidia Cuda to do stuff, such as rendering and converting videos at 4x the speed of systems without Cuda and also better quality. And to top that off, ATI has horrible drivers. Bman, you had to wait how long untill they released 10.6 that supported your card and BC2 and then you were finally able to play it with better quality? Nvidia released SLI support for BC2 like 1-2 months after it came out. and every few weeks, Nvidia releases new drives to help your game performance.
(This is what i've heard so far, correct me if i'm wrong.)

(No, this is not an arguement, just stating facts :icon_mrgreen:
    I was bored, that's why i had time to write this..lol )

What are you saying, i can play BC2 with my card and you can do it with the 10.3, 10.4, 10.5 and if you don't know that they already released the 10.6 (the end of may 2010). :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

Correct but you were compaining about how it didnt detect your card and game play wasnt good and stuff. And you also got rid of your 5770 cuz you were having problems with it. and look at slevin, he had to get his card replaced like 10 times

No, i was complaining only about the 10.4 because it did not detect my 5830 and i never had any 5770, i have my 5830 and my new card (5970) that i not even using yet. :icon_mrgreen:
