Yeah, but Im getting good stuff. Im getting the i5-750, which is the top of the line i5 chip. Its actually a quad core, even though the i5 is a dual core series. Plus its got tons of memory and hard drive that will support me for the three years. The graphics card will work beautifully with my monitor, and the sound card is a nice plus. 10 USB to support any accessories, 2 headphone + 2 mic inputs. Got enough to satisfy me.

My laptop I like has i7, 8GB DDR3, 1TB HDD, ATi graphics, and a bunch of good addons

That was probably Canadian too, so its probably cheaper in the US.

That cpu is essentially a dual 'dual cpu' processor, and not a true quad core cpu. It should be good, however it is a LGA1156 socket and therefore probably only have 1 or 2 PCIe buses (most likely x16 x4) where as almost all 1366 sockets have at least 2 or 3 full x16 PCIe buses for various adpater cards like usb3.0, or SLI or crossfire. i7 capable motherboards allow much more upgrades down the road.

Do me a favour. Call Dell and inquire about that computer and get the name and model of the Motherboard it comes with. And PM me
Oh and that graphics cars is a $50 card, so dont expect to play BC2 or any new directx 11 game very well or at all.

Actually its $100. I was in store today. You are thinking of the 5450 w/512MB. That be different.

I dont plan to upgrade this at all. Its my dads computer. All Im doing is using it for 3 years and then dumping it for a better one. My dad wont spend frickin money on anything. Ive been working him over for a month, have 25% off this computer, and he still wants another $100 off! He's a cheap ass, so Im not going to get anymore people til I get to college and buy my own.

And it's real price is $40 around $50 like what slevin said, you probably went to best buy or something...the GPUs there cost twice as much as other places

Sometimes measuring the bottleneck can be interpreted in so many ways. The only Thing ATI can render better then Nvidia is BSoD.

How many time do I have to tell you! ITS A 1GB CARD. NOT 512MB. Good god. Look at the right card if you want to criticize me. Found this for $60 bucks on sale, but most list at $100, like in BestBuy where I was yesterday.

SO its 1 GB, just get 2 of these card in Crossfire and it will run faster then that for only $20...
See, Bestbuy sells it at $100, because they try to rip you off, but this isnt accually worth $100... I might as well just get a 5770 for an extra $5.... The Athiest told me it was only sale for $105...

Good luck playing BC2 with that graphics card, according to Tom's Hardware,
The 5550 at 1 GB of ram gets about 9 FPS on 1920 x 1080
    And 8 FPS at 1600 x 1050 with 4 x AA....
I had about 8-10 FPS wen i played with my current GPU, it is unplayable....

Yeah. They want the GeForce GTX 260 on the recommended specs, but thats another $180 that I dont have room to add.

Ive got a 1600x900 (native) on my 21" monitor. I probably wont run the game top spec, but I dont like those numbers.

No matter if that card has 512 Mb or 1 Gb, it's still limited by a 64-bit bus and the most likely unreasonably low amount of core processors. Your not going to be able to play BC2 on decent settings without dropping over $100 on a GPU. Just pick up a 4850 or better.
