Dog brought in snake skin last night

So our dog brings a snake skin in from the garage last night.. the snake looks to be around 3 foot. I just contacted animal control about coming out to have a look to see if that thing is still in our garage. One of the joys of living in the country as we're right on the edge of country. We can see horses and cows from our backyard. Our dog killed a rabbit in our yard a couple weeks ago too... it's fun stuff really.

LOL I've had similar experiences, but with a homeless cat. He would bring snakes (in their entirety), and countless number of birds, and set them down outside or door. I'd praise him with food -- maybe that wasnt the best idea.

I got 4 kids and don't really want to go attack some freakin snake with a hoe. :P

Also I think its behind some bricks in our garage and would be hard to get at.. no thanks. Not a snake fan.

    thats funny .
So my 5 year old at lunch the other says Dad have you ever seen a frog with a tail ... I told her I had seen a tadpol with a tail but never a frog ... so she says can I show you one after we eat lunch.. sure
She was right down by the hotub in the flower bed there is this 3 foot long snake (gardner snake i think) with the biggest toad I have ever seen in my life in its mouth .. but to a 5 year old it looked like the frog had a tail because the snake had the toad on the ass right between its rear legs ... and it did look like the frog had a tail..
There was no way this snake was going to eat this toad ... toad to big.... i rescused the toad and took the snake to the woods ... I love living in the country :P

Seriously man...if you're worried about your kids getting bit or something then just get some kind of long gardening implement such as a hoe. Stand back and use the hoe to bring the bricks down (unless we're talking about like a pallet of bricks or something). If you see the snake just chop its head off.

If you do that be sure and take a picture. I want to know what kind of snake it is. :icon_twisted:

Back in high school, i lived in the suburbs, but somehow in our backyard under the porch, there was a family of foxes living there. the fox puppies would come out and play in the yard, which was kinda cute to watch at first, but then they started crappin all over the place :icon_unhappy: .

I've caught a couple of small snakes in our house but nothing poisonous. This is supposed to be a pretty bad year for copperheads. Don't worry though, T3. A copperhead bite isn't typically fatal.

HAHA how comforting. We're not really concerned... we go out to the garage as always, just keeping our eyes peeled. But having been a hunter I know that snakes are as interested in seeing us as we are to see them.. meaning not at all, so I expect it will stay out of sight and leave eventually.

Although I have seen my old man chop a rattlesnake's head of with a spade shovel, I dont blame you T for keeping an eye out especially around your children. You can always tell Animal Control you saw one just to get them out. Better to be on the safe side. ;)

    It's a pallet of bricks.

Put the Bricks on eBay or Craigs list and when the buyer comes to haul them off hopefully the snake will go with the new owners of the bricks

haha i'm not sure that would be very nice. :P

I just told my wife to keep the dog out of the garage.. I don't want our 5 month old puppy getting killed by a snake, that would suck. :icon_cry2:
